Notre Dame’s program in Angers has been offered since 1966, in partnership with the Université Catholique de l’Ouest. Situated in the historic Loire Valley at the confluence of the Maine and Loire rivers, Angers is less than two hours by train from Paris and about one hour from the Atlantic port city of Nantes. The heart of the city, with a 12th-century cathedral and a 13th-century castle, plus winding, narrow streets and old houses, maintains its medieval charm. Angers is a perfect gateway for exploring the Loire Valley, wider France, and Europe.
Students more advanced in the French language can direct-enroll at the Université Catholique de l’Ouest with native students. This unique track will provide students the opportunity to go beyond language learning by focusing on subject matter comprehension across varying subjects and disciplines with French native students. Courses available in this track will be taught in both French and English.
