Getting Started

In order to have a transformative and life-changing experience, planning is key to a successful study abroad endeavor. As you develop your academic plan, you will come to find that study abroad is available for you regardless of major with opportunities to engage in research and intern abroad. In addition to seeking academic guidance from your major advisor, you are encouraged to meet with Study Abroad program directors. As you discern your study abroad location, we offer various opportunities to engage with program directors, including walk-in hours, one-on-one advising, Study Abroad Week, as well as other events throughout the academic year.
To start planning your study abroad experience, you can meet with program directors during walk-in hours, Monday-Thursday 1:00-4:00 p.m. You can also meet with a Study Abroad Influencer and we encourage you to check out our Study Abroad 101 Advising Course, as part of our Study Abroad Compass initiative, and view our recorded information sessions (ND login is required).
