This London-based, six-week, six-credit, faculty-led summer program will connect Notre Dame Neuroscience and Behavior students with the history and research of neuroscience in England. The program will be led by Professor Rachel Branco along with Professor Kristi Rudenga.

In Professor Branco’s course, “Neuropharmacology in Great Britain”, students will learn about the basic tenets of pharmacology and classes of drugs that affect the brain, with particular emphasis on drugs that have been important in Great Britain’s culture and history.

In Professor Rudenga’s course “The Art and Science of Learning”, students will engage with research, literary narratives, and experiential work on how the brain learns. England has a rich history of studying the brain. Excursions will take students to visit sites associated with the study of the brain. Since Neuroscience informs the way humans experience the world, students will also take part in a variety of cultural and entertainment events.
