Why did you choose this study abroad program? There are certain skills that I believe are necessary for a doctor that simply can’t be taught in a classroom, lab, or hospital room. There are experiences that are crucial to forming a well-rounded doctor that you can only find in opportunities like studying abroad. Cities as diverse as London provide a hub of diversity making it possible to learn and meet people from various backgrounds and expand my ability to listen and understand people with different experiences than my own. Living in the London Centre puts me at the center of a city allowing for a true immersion into the culture. When I’m not in classes, I’ll have the opportunity to visit Europe's ranked first Neuroscience Institute at the University College London or explore art and culture at the V&A. These are skills and experiences I can’t learn from my major-specific classes like Organic Chemistry or Calculus.
