Why did you choose this study abroad program? I chose the Rome Theology & Peacebuilding program because it provides unparalleled opportunities to grow both intellectually and spiritually in my Catholic faith in Rome, the epitome of the universal, institutional Church. I am interested in learning about the Church’s approach to social justice issues, peacebuilding initiatives, and advocacy for the most vulnerable populations. The opportunity to experience the vocation of lived peacebuilding through engaging with Vatican officials and significant Catholic peacebuilding actors especially drew me to the program. I am excited to explore Catholic Social Teaching in real-world contexts, create a more personal connection between vocation and the promotion of peace and the common good, and grow as a Catholic global citizen.
