As an Assistant Director for Study Abroad, Samantha Juarez advises students interested in study abroad programs in Ireland, France, and Switzerland.

Sam believes in the transformative power of higher education because of experiences like study abroad. She is passionate about equity, diversity, and inclusion within higher education, especially study abroad to ensure it is accessible. Working in study abroad, she believes in her responsibility to ensure that students are prepared to interact responsibly with host country nationals. Sam hopes for all students who go abroad that they develop self-awareness, critical thinking, intercultural competence and respect towards others who are different from themselves.

Prior to her current position, Sam worked as an Education Abroad Advisor at Bowling Green State University (BGSU) within the College of Business. While in this role, she was also a graduate student in the Higher Education and Student Affairs academic department and completed a Master of Arts in College Student Personnel. Before joining BGSU, Sam worked as a Student Life Assistant in Rome, Italy at Loyola University Chicago's John Felice Rome Center.

Sam holds an M.A. in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University and a B.A. from Loyola University Chicago in Political Science and International Studies.
