Why did you choose your program? I decided to study abroad because I thought it was an amazing and rare opportunity to be able to experience life in another country. I chose London largely for practical reasons, as it was one of the few locations that allowed me to take the science classes necessary for my pre-med track. I also was attracted to the fact that it was a large city, famous both for historical and contemporary reasons.

Favorite story: One of my most memorable experiences from my semester in London was being able to attend the red-carpet premiere for Jumanji 2, which was happening right outside of our dorm! We noticed the premiere being set up on our way home from classes, and we learned that we could gain free entry to the event. We ended up having to wait in the cold for about four hours before it actually started, but it was totally worth the wait; we had the chance to stand right in the middle of all the lights, cameras, and action and watch as Karen Gillan, Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, and Kevin Hart passed before our very eyes! We even got our physics exams signed by Karen and The Rock!

One piece of advice: Take full advantage of your experiences. I know this is probably something you'll hear more than once, but I cannot emphasize how important it is. It's truly a once-in-a-lifetime chance to be able to study abroad during your undergrad years, especially through ND. Even if you go back to that country in the future, it won't be the same as living at a great location in university-provided facilities, going to school and experiencing life abroad with your friends and classmates for an entire four months! I encourage everyone to seize the opportunities before them--participating in school-organized trips, exploring the city, traveling to surrounding countries, and more, while you have the chance; it will make the study abroad experience so much more memorable.
