Located on the Atlantic coast in the north-west, Rabat serves as the modern capital of Morocco. The city retains the rich history of the ancient monuments and archaeological sites, interspersed with the architecture, decorative arts, gardens, and public spaces that create a balance with the urban plan of a modern city. You will participate in the following thematic program in Rabat: Human Rights, Social Justice, and Cultural Transformation.
In this thematic track, you will have the opportunity to explore other areas of Morocco to experience the diversity of peoples and cultures, as well as both rural and urban life in Morocco. With visits to NGOs and local and international associations, you’ll explore Morocco’s history, indigenous industries, development issues, environmental problems, cultural diversity, and interactions between Berbers, Jews, and Arabs. The culmination of your study will be either an internship or an independent study in which you pursue original research on a topic of thematic interest within a Moroccan context.
