Perth lies a short distance from the Indian Ocean and is the capital and major commercial center of Western Australia, the largest among the states that make up the commonwealth of Australia. A modern but relaxed city of about 1.5 million people, Perth boasts a variety of natural and man-made attractions in both its downtown area and immediate suburbs. It has great cultural centers, gorgeous parks, colorful gardens, and has retained many of its historic buildings with distinctive architecture. Like neighboring Fremantle, Perth enjoys a cosmopolitan lifestyle with a myriad of shops, cafes, galleries, restaurants and pubs, and serves as the main transportation hub for Western Australia and Asia.
This study abroad program will give students the opportunity to directly enroll in classes at the University of Western Australia alongside local students. It is ideal for students from the College of Science and College of Engineering, but is open to students from all ND academic colleges.
