Welcome to Norwich!

As a student at the University of East Anglia (UEA), you will find yourself in one of the most stimulating environments available to any undergraduate anywhere in the world. The city becomes your campus when school is in session. Students congregate in local cafes, or head to one of the local cafes for lunch with friends. Norwich, one of the most vibrant and attractive cities in Europe, is a major center of the arts, culture, nightlife, and tourism. The city retains its medieval character with largely intact cobbled streets, 12th century castle, Norman cathedral, open air market and many independent shops, restaurants, galleries, and more. Take part in the literary and music festivals that occur in Norwich multiple times each year. With a population of approximately 215,000 people, Norwich is large enough to have a very lively cultural scene, yet is small enough to not be overwhelming. You will study at the University of East Anglia, a top UK university. The University is an hour and fifty minutes by train from London, 60 miles from Cambridge, but also a short distance from the east coast of England. Norwich has an international airport served by many carriers and has recently been named England's first UNESCO City of Literature.
