Notre Dame’s newest program in Ireland is located in Galway City on Ireland’s west coast. Galway is the fourth largest city in the Republic of Ireland and has a population of approximately 80,000 people. Galway hosts a rich cultural heritage and is home to several arts and literary festivals, theater companies, traditional Irish musicians, and Irish language groups. Students will take courses at the University of Galway, which ranks among the top 2% of universities in the world. Founded in 1845, the University of Galway is home to over 18,000 students and is located in the heart of Galway City in a beautiful tree lined campus filled with historic buildings. The university is renowned for its Medical School, Biomedical Science programs, Engineering programs, and programs in the Arts and Irish Language.
